Us Versus Them Politics

Now that the election is more or less behind us, why not read about politics? More specifically, the “US vs. THEM” nature which has come to define our current political state. Some books written in the last few years focus in on this or how we got here. Some examine the United States of America, as well as other nations. Others are specifically focused on American politics. A few to consider:

Presidential Campaigns and Elections

It is election time here in the United States of America! On the eve of this election’s first Presidential debate, here are some great audio books on presidential campaigns and elections. From the earliest days of our nation to the 2016 election, a few to enjoy:

• “America Afire: Jefferson, Adams and the Revolutionary Election of 1800” by Bernard A. Weisberger
• “America in Search of Itself: the Making of the President, 1956 – 1980” by Theodore Harold White
• “Better than Sex: Confessions of a Political Junkie” by Hunter S. Thompson
•  “Insane Clown President: Dispatches from the 2016 Circus” by Matt Taibbi

As you may guess from the titles, there is little similarity in the way the authors approach the subject.
